What We Do

Menstrual Hygiene Management

THAG Foundation supports underserved adolescent girls to manage their menstrual health by educating them and providing sustainable menstrual hygiene management products. They also support public schools by facilitating the establishment of cost effective methods for disposing menstrual waste in schools.
THAG has published a book, "My Book of Period Stories " authored by Dr Chinekwu Oreh as a knowledge tool that uses real life stories to teach girls about Menstruation and menstrual hygiene management.

Trainings

THAG carries out trainings for adolescent girls (9 to 21 years) using their S.L.I.C.E. approach which stands for Sex Education, Leadership, Impact, Character and Empowerment.
We also organise peer educators trainings for young girls who volunteer to pass down what they have learnt via S.L.I.C.E. to their peers.

Advocacy

THAG Foundation launched her flagship project called the Give the Girl a Voice Advocacy Campaign in 2019. Being an organisation that leverages on peer led intervention, THAG Foundation that the voices of young girls acting as advocates for other young girls will have greater impact than advocacy carried out by other groups. THAG therefore launched this campaign to amplify the voices of adolescent girls as they campaign for the empowerment of the girl child.

Resource development

THAG Foundation understands that knowledge is power, and therefore develops home grown knowledge resources that can help caregivers, social workers, teachers or anybody working with young girls. Some of the resources developed by THAG includes: The Leadership, Character and Etiquette Training Manual; The Good Manners Count Handbook and My Book of Period Stories.
